About the Board

Who We Are

The Counsellors and Psychologists Board was established on the 5th of August 2022 under Section 3 of the Counsellors and Psychologists Act No. 14 of 2014. The Board is the statutory regulator of the counselling and psychology professions in Kenya.

Our work supports practitioners, protects the public, and strengthens the integrity of mental-health services across the country.

Vision

A nation served by ethical, competent, and accountable counselling and psychology professionals.

Mission

To regulate the counselling and psychology professions through registration, accreditation, supervision, and continuous professional development that safeguards the public and advances mental health.

Mandate

• Register and license counsellors and psychologists.
• Set standards of professional practice and ethical conduct.
• Accredit training programmes and institutions.
• Investigate professional misconduct and enforce discipline.
• Advise the Government on matters relating to the professions.
